Mountain Echo

Mountain Echo is a round mahogany wall sculpture inspired by the layered profile of the Dolomites. Its circular surface moves from a calm, almost untouched plane into a sequence of deep ridges, cavities and fractured horizons. These formations recall mountain faces, valleys and geological passages slowly shaped by time.

The relief becomes increasingly pronounced across the lower half of the composition, where light settles into the carved recesses and reveals the depth of the wood. As the position of the viewer and the light change, the sculpture shifts between clarity and shadow, giving the surface a different presence throughout the day.

Made from mahogany, Mountain Echo draws warmth and character from the natural grain of the material. The initial carving process is followed by careful refinement by hand with chisels, shaping every ridge and recess while preserving the strength of the relief. Every sculpture is made to order in Italy and presents subtle variations that make each piece unique.

Conceived by architect Edoardo Cavallaro in collaboration with Edoardo Monti and made with Angelo, an artisan with more than fifty years of woodworking experience, Mountain Echo brings the scale and silence of an alpine landscape into the interior. An 80 cm edition of the sculpture can be found at Enju Bar within Aman Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano, in the heart of the Italian Dolomites.
