Vortices

Vortices is a sculptural wall panel inspired by the slow force of wind and water shaping the earth over time. The carved surface recalls contour lines and eroded landscapes, where every curve seems to follow a natural flow. From a distance the panel feels minimal and graphic, while up close it reveals a complex topography of depth, rhythm, and shadow.

The design is built around the idea of movement inside a quiet composition. Parallel lines rise and fall, open and tighten, creating areas of tension and calm across the surface. As light changes during the day, the relief transforms continuously and the sculpture takes on a different presence from every angle.

Designed by an architect and handcrafted in Italy, each piece is created with the mastery of an artisan with more than 50 years of experience in fine woodworking. We begin from selected logs, which are cut and prepared in our workshop so we can control quality from the first step. The carving is then refined by hand to preserve clean lines, strong depth, and a tactile finish.

Made in ash wood with a black finish, Vortices combines a strong visual identity with a refined material presence. The dark surface enhances the carved geometry and gives the panel a more architectural character, making it suitable for both modern interiors and warmer spaces with natural materials.

The textured surface can also help soften sound reflections by breaking up flat wall areas. Results depend on the room and placement, but the piece remains first of all a sculpture designed to elevate the wall.

Finish and care
The surface is protected with a high purity acrylic varnish and completed with a thin coat of natural oil, helping it stay durable and easy to clean over time.
